Climate change in Muskauer Park

Climate-related changes affect the layout and park maintenance in Muskauer Park

The Association of German Palace Administrations (AGDS) organized a nationwide day of action on climate change in historic gardens on 28 September 2024, in which Muskauer Park also took part.

The changes in weather conditions caused by climate change have a significant impact on the grounds and park maintenance in Muskauer Park.

It is to be expected that heat and droughts, extreme weather events and shifts in the vegetation periods will increase in the future. Strategies and an adaptation of conventional park maintenance to the new conditions are required to deal with these factors and keep the parks fit for the future.

The information posters for the action day provide an overview of the effects of climate change on Muskauer Park and park maintenance as well as current approaches and courses of action.
