Facilities

Orangery

Today's orangery was built in 1844 on the foundations of a former brewery. Built in the Gothic-Moorish style, it has long since ceased to be used solely for the wintering of frost-sensitive trees and shrubs. The building with its white façade and small towers is also a conference and event center.

The elongated building, which faces south-west with its large wooden windows, also houses the offices of the “Fürst-Pückler-Park Bad Muskau” Foundation.

From mid-May to the beginning of October, it is possible to hire the Orangery's light-flooded hall for various events. It can accommodate 80 to 100 people with table seating and up to 200 guests with concert seating. The rental of the building includes the possibility of using the kitchen with inventory in the building.

Marstall

All the inherited farm buildings in the vicinity of the palace were a thorn in Prince Pückler's side in terms of design. He therefore had a baroque predecessor to the stables simply demolished. However, a replacement building was a long time coming. It was not until the reign of Hermann Count von Arnim around 1900 that the current building was erected in the neo-Renaissance style. It is still possible to guess that it belonged to the historic castle outbuildings as a stable.

Today, the stables can be used for various occasions. Guests enter the building through a spacious and impressively high barrel vault. The adjoining multi-purpose hall can accommodate 112 people seated at tables and 156 people seated for concerts. During the winter season (from October 15 to May 15), use of the Marstall is restricted, as potted plants are stored there as well as in the Orangery and the Green Salon.

Ballroom

The hall in the extension of the New Palace exudes an almost princely ambience. It is reminiscent of the heyday of the neo-Renaissance building, which was completely burnt down at the end of the Second World War. Unplastered brickwork on the walls makes the traces of the past visible without detracting from the representative character of the room.

The reconstructed ballroom with its excellent furnishings and good acoustics can be used in a variety of ways. With row seating, for example for lectures or concerts, it can accommodate more than 200 guests. Around 100 seats are available for conferences. Modern media technology, a retractable stage and interpreting and conference equipment are available.

Green Salon

A wonderful symbiosis of old and new has been achieved in the reconstruction of the palace nursery. An innovative glass cube has been integrated into the row of greenhouses, which have been renovated according to historical models. The Green Salon is like a visual bridge, connecting the kitchen garden and orangery in a surprising way.

The high, light-flooded room is available for events (e.g. for free weddings without a registrar). Guests using the room have direct access to the kitchen garden with its trellis fruit wall. It is also possible to visit the exhibition “Pineapple! The queen of fruits in Muskauer Park”. A well-equipped kitchen and toilets are available in the building. The Green Salon can accommodate up to 40 people with table seating.

In the winter season, the Green Salon can only be used to a limited extent, like the stables and the orangery. It is then used to display rare plants in tubs that would otherwise be in the park in the open air.

Conference room

You can hire a prestigious conference room on the first floor in the north wing of the castle. It can accommodate 35 to 50 guests. The room has direct access to a terrace with a magnificent view across the castle meadow to the Neisse.

Weddings

“O God! How your kisses still burn on my lips ... You must love me or the earth shall swallow me up”, Pückler assured a lady he adored in a love letter. With his landscape garden on the Neisse, he created an ideal backdrop to give free rein to great feelings.

Wedding couples can say “I do” in the New and Old Palace as well as in the Orangery and the registry office of the town of Bad Muskau is responsible for weddings.

Wedding room

Are you looking for something special for your wedding ceremony? On the first floor of the New Palace, historical traces and modern architecture enter into an exciting liaison. Small original stucco elements from a bygone era have been lovingly restored and embedded in a simple new design - an extremely charming mix.

Pückler's wife Lucie once lived in these rooms, from which she could look out into the “Schnuckental”, named after her. The green prince had it laid out for her as a wedding present: “The Schnuckenthal spreads out beneath the windows of your future home, beyond the castle pond to the bordering hills. An iron English fence surrounds the Schnucken in the valley. A path leads around it, richly decorated with flowering plants and shrubs. The clear water of the lake gently washes the fresh green banks, and tame, cute deer play among the Schnucken.”

The wedding room in the west wing can accommodate 42 people. Access to the New Palace is permitted for the bridal vehicle (car or carriage). Additional use of selected areas in the park (e.g. for a champagne reception) is possible.
