Cord Panning confirmed as managing director
Cord Panning will remain managing director of the Fürst-Pückler-Park Bad Muskau Foundation until the end of June 2029.
The contract extension was signed on 23rd October 2025 in the presence of State Secretary Sebastian Hecht (Saxon State Ministry of Finance). Due to his age, Mr. Panning would have taken his well-deserved retirement in 2026. Mr. Panning has been at the helm of the foundation, which was established in 1993, since 1997.
The contract extension comes at a time when the foundation has important ongoing projects. With considerable financial support from the federal government, the Free State of Saxony is currently implementing major construction projects for the foundation, such as the Muskauer Faltenbogen Information and Education Center, the renovation of Villa Pückler, and the conversion of the Dominium.
Continuity in the management of the foundation until these projects are completed is therefore of particular importance. In addition, the contract extension is also important in light of further challenges, such as the effects of climate change on the park, the continuation of cooperation with Poland, and the future financing of the foundation.
