Since 2012, pineapples have been once again growing in the castle nursery in Muskau Park. Pückler's grandfather, Hermann Count von Callenberg, had already grown the first pineapple in Bad Muskau. Park creator Hermann Fürst von Pückler-Muskau (1785-1871) later picked up on this idea. The exhibition “Pineapple! The Queen of Fruits in Muskau Park” in the palace nursery today sheds light on the cultural history of the exotic fruit in this special place and in general. The greenhouses and the kitchen garden with a trellis fruit wall were reconstructed according to historical models. The diverse planting of vegetables and herbs in the outdoor beds also takes up the traditions of Pückler's kitchen garden.
